A film that won't get me to read the book

Jesus' Son is one of those books I feel slight guilt about for not having read. So as I was cruising through my Netflix streaming queue last night and found Jesus' Son, I figured watching the movie might assuage a bit of my guilt.

The movie was uninteresting, so I bailed early. And now I'm not so sure I'll ever jump into the book, because the characters grated on me. I've known people like them...wtf-types who wander about doing what's ever immediately available....drugs, sex, quasi-lawless Tom Foolery. While I have no personal grudge toward any of these types (nor do I condone their acts), I just don't find them engaging.

So I've abandoned the guilt and will remind myself not too feel bad about what I haven't read and to celebrate what I have.
